Our funny/spoiled girl

Before I explain I DO take FULL responsibility for doing this to my child....BUT she's my baby! So pretty much every morning Kaylee comes into our bed or she is already there from sneaking up during the night and she wants to watch cartoons. She wants apple juice and a baggie with dry cereal. I bring it to her because she is not an early eater and on the days she has school (3 days a week) it's all I can get her to eat (most of the time). She also watches cartoons with one eye covered for about 20 minutes (NO LIE) because she says it's too "light!" She makes me laugh every time I see her do this. I know I need to break this habit of hers because I really don't love her eating in my bed, especially when I accidentally wash my sheets with a bag of cookie crisp in it. YUCK! But she is my baby & I think I am just going to enjoy every bit of her being little that I can! Jayden is 13!!! I wonder where in the world the last 13 years have gone and then I think that I am only the BOSS of her for 5 short more years! It just goes by TOO FAST!!!! So honestly I really am OK with this for now and all the other little things that sometimes bug because in the blink of an eye they will be gone!

Ward Party with Santa Claus 12-4-08

The girls got to sit on Santa's lap at our ward Christmas party and tell them what they wanted for Christmas. Of course Kaylee would have NOTHING to do with the BIG man in the red suit!I love Ashlyn's faces in these pictures! So cute!

I'm not sure what he was telling her in this picture but she looks a little nervous.

Santa was so fun with Jayden! He sat on her lap!
How many teenagers get to act crazy with Santa?
We had a lot of fun at the ward party. Visiting with friends, good food, & entertainment!

Jayden @ The Dicken's Festival 12-4-08

Jayden's show choir from 7th grade performed @ The Dicken's Festival this year. It was a lot of fun to go watch her. Jayden was in the choir for 3 years in Elementary so I always went to The Dicken's Festival to watch her. Last year in 6th grade she choose to do orchestra instead so I missed going to her performances. They did a really good job!

Kaylee goes to school with Courtney 12-4-08

Kaylee got to go to Courtney's (Jayden's best friend) school and have lot's of fun. Courtney is such a cute, sweet girl! She is always so sweet to my girls. I love that her & Jayden are such good friends. I just wish they went to the same school. They started out playing with playdough.
They got to blow bubbles

They made necklaces out of fruit loops

They made picture frames. The teacher went around and took pictures of the student with the child they brought so they could put the picture on the frame they made. That night before I went to bed I went to check on the kids and Kaylee was sleeping with the picture of her & Courtney. So cute!
Kaylee had so much fun doing this and asks me all the time when she can do it again. Thanks Courtney for inviting Kaylee Bugs to play with you for a bit!

Bye Bye Braces 12-4-08

Can you believe Jayden is old enough to already have her braces off? She had them on for 18 months and everything went just as planned. Hopefully she'll wear her retainer faithfully so her teeth with stay beautifully straight! Headin up in the elevator

Jayden was a little nervous. I kept telling her she'd be fine but she still had a nervous tummy.

Brushing up nice & clean for Dr. Erickson

A song to Grandma King

My sweet little Ashlyn wrote a song to her grandma King. It was so sweet! She actually sang it to me in a little tune she had made up. I had her sing it to Josh next and in the middle of it she burst into tears. So sad! She talks about grandma King all of the time. Ashlyn always wants me to tell her all about her grandma & what I loved most about her. I hope & pray that Ashlyn will always want to remember her grandma!

Thanksgiving was definitly different for our family this year without grandma & grandpa! We missed them very much. While Josh was off playing football the girls & I watched the Macy's day parade on T.V. I was very emotional and would cry about every 5 minutes because I was missing my mommy & mom & dad Leishman. Finally towards the end I really got weepy when the special needs kids had a little part in the parade. Kaylee looked @ me & asked why I was crying. I told her because I thought it was so neat that the special need kids were able to take part in the parade. Kaylee responded by saying, "Don't worry mom! You're special needs because you get to take care of us everyday!" Oh how I love my sweet Kaylee.
P.S. We really have taught Ashlyn to use a fork. I'm not sure what she was doing in that picture.

Grandma King's pajama's 11-2008

I have my mom's pajama top that she was wearing the day she passed away. I have kept it in my night stand for the girls and I to pull out and hug whenever we are missing her. We use to be able to smell her on them but they smell like wood from my night stand now. As I have posted in the past my sweet little Kaylee bugs loves to sneak up to my bed and fall asleep. I have caught her on many occasions with grandma's pj's. Sometimes they are laying beside her and I have even found Kaylee dressed in them but when I came in and saw her cute little hand clutched around the pj's I had to take a picture so I would remember this forvever! Kaylee was only 1 year old when my mom passed away and the last time I heard or seen my mom talk was when I entered her room the day before she died with Kaylee and Kaylee was waving at her grandma. I said, "Mom, Kaylee is saying Hi to you and my sweet mommy mouthed the words, Hi!" I will never forget that. Oh how I miss my mom!!!!
