Easter 2008

Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday

We had fun coloring eggs except that Jayden was burning up with a fever and couldn't get up so I colored her eggs for her.

My girls Easter baskets and plasma cars

I love this picture! Kaylee would pull something out of her basket and say, "awesome!" or she would say, "oh my!" she was so excited, it was darling!

My 4.0 honor roll student
Jayden has gotten perfect grades all year long and I am wanting to compensate her for doing so great. She has two seperate savings account, one that Josh & I contribute to every month that will be used for college. Then she opened one for herself and she is saving for a car for when she is 16. I feel like I would want to put the money I gave her into one of the accounts rather than handing her money and having it get wasted at Target. Anyway I am still uncertain what I want to do so I was wondering if you could tell me things you do for your kids or things your parents did for you.

My two little sickies
Josh and Kaylee are pretty sick right now. Josh stayed in bed all day on Saturday and I have never seen him do that the whole time we have been married. Every time he gets sick he just keeps on going but not yesterday. He has been landscaping our backyard and I think he just got totally worn down. Kaylee keeps fevering, has a bad cough and a runny nose. But she still finds those bursts of energy every once in a while and goes crazy.

One of my MANY ocd's!
I have the worst ocd's with my food storage! I want my pantry to be completley stocked and to look perfect! Linn's is having a case lot sale right now and I have already been twice and contemplating a third trip. I just want to be prepared. With the rising gas prices it is forcing food prices up and I just fear that we won't be able to keep up. If you don't know me well I will give you a bit of an insight about me; i'm a huge worry wart!

Star Student
Ashlyn was star student last week & she was so excited! on Monday her teacher read clues about whom the person was and Ashlyn said she was so excited she could have screamed when she found out it was her. On Tuesday we brought in this poster we made of her. Ashlyn had told me that the most important pictures were of her & Lucky. I can't remember what Wednesday was. Thursday she got to bring a toy from home and stick it in a bag and we played 20 questions with the class to guess what it was. Then on Friday I brought Lucky in for show & tell and chocolate donuts with sprinkles. I think it was a good week for Ashlyn!

Well I guess it has been 3 years since my sweet mommy has been gone from this earth. In a way it doesn't seem fair! I mean shouldn't I be having a big celebration at my house tonight for her because she would be turning 50? And shouldn't she be able to raise her sweet little kids who are still @ home? Shouldn't my kids, my brothers & sisters kids have their grandma to spoil them & hype them up with sugar before returning them to us? And shouldn't I be able to call her up just because I need to hear her voice and no matter the situation or even what she says to me I feel so much better just because I talked to my mom? I guess I could go on & on about why it doesn't feel fair to me but where would that get me? Instead I choose to think of how happy she is in Heaven and that she is healthy!!! (No more of that crappy cancer!) I also choose to remember that the night she told me she was going to die she said it with a big smile on her face, like it was ok. Another thing I like to remember is that the day of her funeral, thanks to my great sis-in-law Marilla, her Uncle Jeff or Elder Holland I should say gave me the most wonderful blessing you could ever imagine and in the blessing he told me that my mom could actually do more for her kids in Heaven than she could on this earth! So I guess if I were to look at the big picture my situation will be better by her being sent home and leaving us all here for so long without her! I miss her more than I could ever even put into words! I love you mom & there will never be a day that passes in my lifetime that I don't think of you and miss you!
