Green Mermaids

Kaylee is playing soccer this Fall and her team is called, "The Green Mermaids." How cute is that? She is really loving it, which makes it fun for me too. She played in the Spring and she just wasn't sure what to think. She would dance around the field close to the ball but trying to really not make contact with it. This season she is going after the ball and having a great time. I think my favorite part is to see her out there with a great big smile on her face, enjoying every second of it!

Our little gymnast

Ashlyn & Kaylee are taking gymnastics and LOVE it! They both work really hard and even practice at home on their beds, couches, & walls. (Not sure I like that part) I took my camera one day to get a few snap shots of the girls and of course Kaylee was all smiles but Ashlyn was giving me dirty looks and telling me to stop taking pictures. So, I will spare you the dirty looks and not post those fabulous pictures.

Pine Valley

Over Labor Day weekend we packed up our car with a picnic and headed up to Pine Valley. It was so beautiful and relaxing. It made me wonder why we don't take more time to go.

Lucky was wondering why Josh wasn't playing with him.

Cake Decorating

Here is another post from the Summer

I took Josh on a birthday date up to Cedar City and grandma Leishman watched my girls. While they were there grandma gave them a cake decorating class and they each got to decorate their own cakes. They did such a good job and they were all so proud of their cakes! I like to watch the show Cake Boss on TLC and so Kaylee told Jayden that when I got home that night and saw her cake that I would think that Buddy (the main guy from the show) had made a cake and brought it to our house. What a funny girl!

Finding a treasure

Last year Ashlyn really struggled in the friend department. She had a darling little friend named Macey that lived in our neighborhood but moved in the beginning of 3rd grade. It was tough for Ashlyn and she never seemed to really click with anyone else. As a parent this broke my heart and I prayed so hard over the summer that Ashlyn would meet a new, good, true friend. Well my prayers were answered. A cute little girl named Gracie moved into our neighborhood over the summer and her & Ashlyn ended up in the same 4th grade class. They became instant friends! Ashlyn is so happy which makes me so happy! I am so grateful for answered prayers!
I took Ashlyn & Gracie to the Tonaquint park and they each caught a minow. (not sure how to spell) They were so funny saying that they were going to have a wedding for the two fish and let them visit each other. Their stories kept getting bigger & bigger about what they were going to do and they were getting so excited, their faces were glowing! I had to hold back tears because my little girl had found a treasure!!! Not a fish but a true good friend and she was so happy!

The Temple

This is from the Summer but I still needed to post it.
Grandma & Grandpa Leishman are working in the baptistry on Thursday mornings now and so during the summer Jayden was able to go to the Temple and perform Baptisms for the dead.
I love this picture! I think it looks like 2 beautiful angels welcoming my daughter into the Temple! I love seeing the people I love dressed all in white at the Temple.
While Jayden was doing Baptisms the girls and I went over to the visitor's center. I love watching my girls learn more about Jesus and his teachings. I love when they ask me questions and as I am answering them I feel warmth & love envelope my soul, letting me know that what I am saying is true!

I love the Temple and I especially love being their with my family!

Tarzan

We finally made it to Tarzan on the first of September and had a ball! We loved the flying monkey's, the flood, and of course Tarzan!

Rockstars

Our PTA is doing a fun thing for the kids this year called, "Read like a Rockstar." They kicked it off on Friday at school by having the kids dress up like rockstars and then with an assembly. I, of course had to take advantage of the moment with a few snapshots. Check out my cute Rockstars!

Rock on!

First Day of School 10-11

Do you remember how you felt on your first day of school? Excited & Nervous all balled up in your tummy at once? I still feel this way for my kids on the first day and all day I pray that they are having a good day, that their teacher's are nice, and that they have friends to play with at recess and sit with at lunch.

Ashlyn's cake

For activity days this week Ashlyn got to learn how to decorate cakes. She even got to decorate her very own. There was also a VERY special guest that came & taught the class. It was her grandma Leishman. Ya can't beat learning from the best!

He really isn't a girl

I have a boy dog, but look how cute he looks dressed up as a little girl! Do you think I am scarring him for life when I do this to him or is it just helping him get in touch with his feminine side?

Our 10th anniversary May 13, 2010

I can't believe how fast 10 years can fly by. I must say that these last 10 years have been the BEST of my life. Yes, we have had good & bad times. And there are times that we drive each other crazy but at the end of the day we are happy! We love us! I don't think I could have found a more perfect husband for me. He is always trying to make me happy (even if I don't always see it) and he is an amazing daddy to our 3 little girls. I love Josh with every fiber of my being! I am so grateful to be his Eternal companion.

Mother's Day

How was your mother's day? Mine was wonderful! I have an amazing husband that tries very hard to make my day special. I woke up to a delicious breakfast and freshly squeezed orange juice from him. Then we went into the living room where I opened hand written letters from my beautiful children. Each of them did a survey on me and I wanted to share a few of the cute things they wrote: (Jayden & Ashlyn got a lot of things right so I will mostly be sharing
Kaylee's funny stuff)

Mom's height:
Kaylee's answer: 34 feet
Ashlyn's answer: 4 foot 8 inces
Jayden: 5 foot 3 inches
(I'm 5'4")

Kaylee's answers about mom:
Favorite color: Green-that's mine too
Favorite Food: Everything except what she hates
Favorite Book: Chester Raccoon and the big, bad bully
Favorite movie: Tad, because she likes me to watch it
Best Friend: Me
Job: She helps people and serves to get money
Then at the bottom she says, "I'll give you a foot rub for money"

What a funny girl I have. She brought a little purse to sacrament with lotion in it and said mom I brought this so I could massage your hands. So cute.

Josh gave me a box all wrapped up that weighed a ton. The girls were so excited for me to open it because they didn't know what it was. Josh told them to remember that money had been tight so he just had to make due. I opened the present and there were more gifts wrapped in newspaper. The first one I opened was Josh's soccer ball. He said it was so we could play soccer together. The next was a weight from our gym, he said it was so we could work out together and then I opened my old pot and of course that was so we could cook together. We were all laughing! At the bottom was a true gift wrapped for me. I got an ipod touch. WOW!!! Jayden looked at Josh and said I can't believe you got mom one of those! What am I too old???

Josh made us all lunch after church and brought out chocolate covered strawberries and bananas that he had made the night before. YUM! He did dishes, and showered the girls. It was an awesome day! I love being a mom more than anything!!!

Our Ironman

Our little Ashlyn ran the 1 mile Ironman kids fun run. She LOVED it! I love to see my kids being active and enjoying themselves while they do it.
On Saturday Josh took Jayden & Ashlyn out to the lake to watch the Ironman swim. Then that afternoon we all went down and watched some bikers and runners come in. It was so amazing & inspiring! At our furniture store we sell Ironman mattresses so we have a video that we play in the store of the Hawaii Ironman. We have all sat and watched it numerous times and it never gets old! I am amazed to see elderly people and people with no legs participate in this amazing event! I'm pretty sure I will never do an Ironman but it has inspired me to try harder. I want to be active and healthy! I want my kids to know the importance of exercise and the lasting effect it has on our bodies.

What do you want from me?

I love this picture! I have had it as my screen saver for a week and I still laugh every time I see it. I was thinking about how cute & funny it is when we see a little kid do something like this but if we as an adult did it, it wouldn't be so cute! But believe me there are times I feel like throwing my arms in the air and asking,
"What do you want from me?"
